Tom White and Diane King Hall probe investor sentiment as the government shutdown treks on, with no vote scheduled for Friday. As economic data faces delays, the BLS is still expected to release CPI next week. Later, Tom discusses the list of candidates that could be nominated to replace Fed Chair Jerome Powell. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says that list is down to 5 candidates, including current Fed governors Michelle Bowman and Christopher Waller. And, with Nvidia (NVDA) hitting all-time highs this week, Tom and Diane discuss The Financial Times report that China is tightening checks on Nvidia's A.I. chips.
