GameStop's (GME) move to buy Bitcoin (/BTC) has some calling it a clever attempt to grab attention and create volatility in the stock. Tom Essaye thinks it's a "gimmick" that distracts from the company's larger issue - a declining core business. While he applauds GameStop's ingenuity, he believes they need a credible plan to create long-term value, beyond just buying and holding trendy assets like Bitcoin.
