Restaurant owners are "scratching their heads" as the industry grapples with 35% food inflation, tariff uncertainty, and potential "food tariff wars" with China, according to Phil Kafarakis. With a 25% impact on food costs and tariff additions, a 30% hit on profit margins is "a very, very difficult situation" for many family-run operations, he says.
