John Campbell is looking for smaller companies to catch up to the big tech companies and thinks AI capex spending could help them close the gap. Because of valuations, he sees a “margin of safety” in small caps still. His picks right now include SkyWest (SKYW), an airline company with “high quality earnings,” along with e.l.f. Beauty (ELF), which has exposure to China but is doing a “pretty good job” of diversifying its supply chain and selling globally. John also likes Exelixis (EXEL), a company making cancer drugs.
