Since the dawn of ubiquitous internet, websites have been vying for our attention. The intention behind commercial websites was harmless enough; to inform you of products or services available, like a stereotypical medieval street sign indicating blacksmith, tavern, or baker. But this quickly turned into an arms race with Madison Avenue advertising types employing every dirty trick they could think of to get eyeballs on screens.
