
Stories from India: Jharkhand farmer adopts abandoned girls, gives them hope
Hare Ram Pandey, a farmer from Jharkhand, adopted an abandoned newborn baby girl he found in a dire condition and took full responsibility for her care. Over time, he rescued and welcomed several other orphaned girls into his home, raising them as his own. Today, he is the guardian of 35 girls. Whenever abandoned children are found, people reach out to him for help. He has also registered his name on all the girls’ Aadhaar cards, ensuring they receive identity, dignity and recognition.
