
Parent visa processing delays rise; Migrants call it ‘a real challenge’
In 2024–25, Parent Visa lodgements fell to 18,434 from 23,345 in the previous period. However, the backlog remained significant, with 90,155 applications still awaiting processing. With only 8,500 places available annually, the Department of Home Affairs says processing times remain lengthy.
