OCI applications now in-person only, postal submissions end in Australia
Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) applicants in Australia will no longer be able to apply by post. From 1 April, 2026, all applications must be submitted in person at designated VFS Global centres. While some members of the Indian diaspora feel the change could pose additional challenges, particularly for those in regional areas, others see it as important for improving security and preventing fraud.
