
‘A sacred place’: Award-winning British-Indian Kathak artist on Melbourne Arts Centre
In South Asian literature and Sufi poetry, the bird 'Bulbul' represents love, devotion and the soul’s journey toward freedom. British-Indian dancer Aakash Odedra draws on that imagery in his production 'Songs of the Bulbul', which was performed at The Arts Centre Melbourne during his Australian tour.
