Show Notes
Savannahs St. Joseph’s/Candler hospital and the Medical College of Georgia are launching a new medical residency program, funded by a $20 million state investment. The program will train doctors in internal medicine, family medicine, general surgery, and cardiology, starting with internal medicine in July 2027. The hospital will expand facilities and accreditation to accommodate over 100 residents, fostering local ties and boosting the regions physician supply. Upgrades include classrooms, locker rooms, and enhanced on-call spaces, with a focus on primary care in underserved neighborhoods.
