Show Notes
The Port of Savannah is expanding its citrus imports, with shipments from South Africa, Chile, and Peru expected in May and June. The Georgia Ports Authority is serving a broader range of citrus buyers and cold chain shippers, thanks to new routes and expanded services. The port is now a top choice for importers, with thirty-nine ocean carrier services, more direct global links than any other South Atlantic or Gulf Coast port. To handle the increased demand, a new temperature-controlled inspection site is opening in June, and a larger customs facility launched in February, doubling space for agricultural and wildlife inspections.
