Show Notes
Georgias Department of Transportation is widening I-95 by one lane in each direction over 22 miles, costing $116 million. This upgrade aims to improve safety and traffic flow due to growing population and port operations. The stretch sees 90,800 daily vehicles, with trucks making up 26%. From 2020-2024, there were 2,350 crashes, including 639 injuries and 12 deaths. Without expansion, demands wont be met. A virtual public info open house is available, with comments due by March 27th.
