Show Notes
Georgias state flower, the Cherokee Rose, has been replaced by the Sweetbay Magnolia, following a push from the Georgia Native Plant Society. The Cherokee Rose, once thought to be native, is actually an invasive species from southeast Asia. The Sweetbay Magnolia, a true native, is better suited to Georgias climate and promotes ecosystem health.
