FDA Issues Recall Alert: Norovirus Detected in Clams from Drayton Harbor, Washington

The FDA has issued a recall alert for Manila clams harvested from Drayton Harbor in Washington state, which may carry norovirus. These clams, gathered by the Lummi Indian Business Council from February 13th to March 3rd, were distributed to nine states. Raw oysters from the same area and time, harvested by Drayton Harbor Oyster Company, are also affected but remained in Washington. Norovirus causes stomach flu-like symptoms and can spread easily. Restaurants and food sellers in affected states are urged to check their supplies, sanitize equipment, and trace sources to prevent contamination.
