Known for her efforts to combat hunger on campus, Lavants journey from a first-generation student to a top educator serves as an inspiration for todays scholars. Her career includes roles at Florida A&M University, Clark Atlanta, Mercer, and Albany Technical College, and she is also a TEDx speaker and executive producer.
