Show Notes
A newborn girl, born in South Carolina, was safely surrendered under the states Safe Haven law. Weighing five pounds four ounces and measuring seventeen point three inches, she was rushed to Lexington Medical Center and later moved to Prisma Health Richland for further care. On March twenty-seventh, she was accepted under Daniels Law, allowing parents to anonymously drop off newborns at hospitals or safe spots. The Richland County Department of Social Services took custody, and the baby is currently stable at the hospital. A permanency planning hearing and parental rights termination case is scheduled for May twentieth in Richland County Family Court.
