Lieutenant Colonel Brandon Shah, a graduate of the University of Georgia and former Army aviation specialist, was tragically shot and killed in a classroom at Old Dominion University. The shooter, Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a former Army National Guard member and convicted Islamic State supporter, was subdued and killed by ROTC students. Jalloh was released from federal custody in December 2024, just months before the incident. The University of Georgia community mourns Shahs loss, remembering him for his dedication to service and mentoring young cadets.
