Aasmah Mir and the Rev. Richard Coles are joined by the actor, writer and director Simon Callow. He discusses his stage and screen career and how he’ll be performing at the WAWA Weekender to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Wac Arts, a charity which empowers young people to change the world through the arts. Classical musician Hannah Rankin explains how the discipline of being a professional bassoonist has helped her to become the first female world boxing champion for Scotland at super-welterweight. Dave Goulson is Professor of Biological Science at the University of Sussex in Brighton and is a bumblebee expert, setting up the Bumblebee Conservation Trust. Stand-up comedian Jayde Adams has worked as a fishmonger, doorwoman and Adele impersonator. She is taking her new show, The Ballad of Kylie Jenner’s Old Face to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. And the Benin singer Angelique Kidjo chooses her Inheritance Tracks: Quimbara by Celia Cruz and Fire on the Mountain by Asa. She is performing a BBC Late Night Proms: on 30th July, at the Royal Albert Hall.
