Reading Quest and Vital Spaces Present Song and Poem Quest Event
Join the fun on April 25th in Santa Fe as Reading Quest teams up with Vital Spaces for a free Song and Poem Quest event. Kids in second through sixth grade can perform their own poems or join a youth choir led by musician David Berkeley and the Zia Singers. Workshops are available to help them prepare.
Reading Quest is also offering eight weeks of free one-on-one tutoring this summer at their Santa Fe center. Families can choose the days and times that work best. Email [email protected] to sign up or learn more.
At Santa Fe Community College, retired engineer Howard Roy Dittmer was sworn in to the governing board on February 25th. He aims to boost the colleges career training programs. The board also appointed new officers in January, with Linda Siegle as chair, Xubi Wilson as vice chair, and Lina Germann as secretary.
Local students earned top spots at the recent district STEM fair, from third graders like Levi Hammond-Paul to high schoolers at Capital High. The county extension group is offering a two-thousand-dollar scholarship for locals heading to a New Mexico college this fall. Applications are due May 1st.
