Angel Fire Resort in New Mexico hosted its annual shovel races, where over a hundred racers competed on aluminum shovels, reaching speeds up to 60 mph. Sisters Nadia and Paloma Gonzales won the womens category, with Nadia setting the fastest time of the day. Rob Tibljas won the mens race. The event, a nod to its 1970s origins, attracted local fans and solidified Angel Fires status as the sports birthplace.
