The superintendent of the San Dieguito School District has been fired. Cheryl James-Ward was placed on leave in April after making comments linking Asian American academic success to an influx of wealthy Chinese immigrant families. The district's four-member school board voted unanimously Sunday to terminate her contract without cause. James-Ward's attorney says she will sue for retaliation.
