Show Notes
Utahs dry spell ends with a heavy storm, dropping over an inch of rain and nearly a foot of snow at Alta Ski Resort, ending a 25-day snowless streak. Another system from the Gulf of Alaska brings six to twelve inches of snow to the Wasatch and Western Uinta mountains. A freeze watch covers the Wasatch Front, northern Utah, and central Utah, with overnight lows plunging to the mid-twenties. Snow levels could drop to 5,500 feet, bringing possible trace amounts to valleys and benches, plus a quarter to half inch of rain along the front. Protect early gardens and cover pipes to avoid the freeze, which could linger into Saturday. Drier conditions and mid-sixties to seventies temperatures return for Easter weekend.
