Nutrition Nugget! Bite-size, bonus episodes offering tips, tricks, and approachable science. This week, Jenn's talking about Hibiscus. Hibiscus has some powerful ingredients for gut and skin health. It is most often used in herbal teas and as an extract, and every part of the flower is used. With the small amount of research done via test tubes and rats, (dating back to the 1700s) it has been shown to reduce free radicals, increase antioxidants and polyphenol, fight cancer, and lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels.
