Show Notes

Finding accurate health information can be very overwhelming in the digital Age. In this episode, Amy, Kim, and Gabbie talk about the do’s and don’ts of sourcing health information.

Important key points:

When looking for accurate health information, ask your healthcare provider! Ask for printed summaries, ask questions, and always feel free to contact them after the visit to get more information

Questions to ask yourself when searching for health information on the internet:

  1. Is the website affiliated with a government agency, university, or professional organization?

  2. Who wrote the article? What are their credentials and affiliations? Do they have the authority to provide this education?

Sources to avoid:

  1. Facebook, personal blogs, or websites such as Reddit

  2. Commercial websites trying to sell a product or service
