Today I start something that I have been putting off for way to long, my report on the voyage of Vito Dumas aboard Lehg 2. Back in 1942, Vito set sail from Argentina to circle the globe on what was dubbed the Impossible Route. Today, I get into a deep dive about my self-steering aboard Sparrow. You might have heard me talk about Mongo, he is my Aries Windvane and has sailed Sparrow and I around the world and beyond. I'm no expert but I do have a bunch of experience when it comes to the good and bad of this great little tool for solo sailing. Well we are recording back where it all started, the hills of Walloon Lake in Michigan. I will be here all summer working with the Watersports Center that I Directed back in my 20's.
