Show Notes

Think about the computing software required to run your car. Your vehicle likely runs on about 100 million lines of code — 100 times more than the Space Shuttle, 4 times more than a commercial aircraft, and the equivalent of nearly 18,000 printed pages. In the near future, the tech installed in automated vehicles will contain between 300 and 500 million lines of code — and there’s surely more to come.

.

Tim Frasier, Regional President of North America for Bosch USA’s new Cross-Domain Computing Solutions division, discussed how his new team combines software, electrical, and electronics engineers to create a consistent IT architecture throughout the vehicle. These bright minds and brilliant engineers came together at Bosch’s Hackathon to create a new product idea that scored highest in its category at the 2020 CES Best of Innovation Awards.
