Marriage is more than a social contract—it is a divine picture frame holding the masterpiece of the gospel. In Ephesians 5, Paul reveals that the love of a husband for his wife and the respect of a wife for her husband are designed to reflect Christ’s sacrificial love for His church and the church’s joyful submission to Him. This “mystery” points beyond itself to the eternal union between Jesus and His people.
Whether married or single, we are all called to see marriage as a living parable that proclaims the beauty, holiness, and steadfast love of Christ.
