The Royals played the Houston Astros from June 3 - 5, losing 3-10 on Friday, winning 6-0 on Saturday, and losing 4-7 on Sunday. Kris Bubic and Jonathan Heasley combine for 11 innings and 3 runs on back-to-back days. Salvador Perez hits two home runs with a .364 average over the weekend. Michael A Taylor returns from the injured list, Kris Bubic returns from AAA and Albert Abreu was added to the Major League roster. Dairon Blanco was designated for assignment while Foster Griffin and Ronald Bolanos were both optioned to AAA. The Royals are 17-35 on the season so far.

The Royals had a pretty OK weekend with one good game, one bad game, and one OK game that reveals a couple of things, but nothing new. Mostly, it just reminds everyone that Cal Eldred is not qualified to be a pitching coach at any level, as Kris Bubic takes lessons learned elsewhere to find success like Jakob Junis did. Meanwhile, Salvador Perez begins heating up in what could be a fun summer for one of the most exciting hitters in baseball!
