Everton’s summer fitness drive has been punctured by injuries. The best performance of pre-season so far was built on the return of a number of key stars as the Blues achieved a comfortable victory over Preston North End.
But it was also an afternoon marred by new fitness concerns. There were several absences as Sean Dyche acted with caution as he sought to protect his squad.
With just under a fortnight to go until the start of the Premier League season, with Brighton & Hove Albion set for Goodison Park on August 17, here is an overview of the condition of the Everton squad.
