A busy Tuesday evening off Bryant Drive resulted in a bevy of news coming from the University of Alabama athletic department.
At the forefront was the awarding of the 2020 Heisman Trophy to UA wide receiver DeVonta Smith, the Crimson Tide's third winner of college football's most prestigious individual honor in 12 years.
Meanwhile, with a Florida team that has had its way at Coleman Coliseum in town, the Alabama men's basketball team looked to take sole possession of first place in the SEC. In snapping an eight-game home court losing streak to the Gators, Nate Oats' team did just that.
Did we mention that the Alabama football team has gotten on-the-field preparation for its College Football Playoff National Championship Game matchup with No. 3 Ohio State underway?
