Jesus' Faithfulness Amidst Our Failure

The Confession, The Cross, and The Call to Listen

This sermon explores Luke 9:18-36, examining three crucial aspects of Christian faith: confessing Jesus as the Christ, embracing the call to carry our cross daily, and listening to God's voice, especially through suffering.

Ministry in the Image of Jesus

In this sermon from July 20, 2025, based on Luke 9:1-17, we explore what it means to participate in Jesus’ mission. The message highlights three key aspects of ministry:

1. Called and Commissioned: Jesus intentionally calls and sends His disciples to proclaim the Kingdom of God and heal the hurting, showing that ministry starts with His call, not our own abilities. Every believer is invited to join this mission through words and acts of mercy, as defined by Jesus.

2. Radical Dependence: Jesus sends the disciples out with minimal resources, teaching them to rely on Him rather than their own strength. The Feeding of the 5,000 illustrates this—when the disciples offer their small portion of five loaves and two fish, Jesus multiplies it to feed thousands, showing that ministry thrives on faith and availability, not abundance.

3. Revealing Jesus: Ministry reflects Jesus’ life—taken, blessed, broken, and given. As we participate, our lives take on this same pattern, becoming a message of Christ’s love to the world. Through us, others encounter the Bread of Life.

Reflection: Where is Jesus calling you to step into His mission? Are you offering your “five loaves and two fish,” trusting Him to use what seems small? Let Jesus take, bless, break, and give your life for His glory.

Join us as we unpack how ordinary people can partner with Jesus in extraordinary ways!
