- Secure your passwords - use long, complex passwords (like Isawtheelephantdrivingdownthestreet) - it's something completely random, long and complex, but easy to remember.
- Get a password manager - do you research to know which one works best for your situation but options like LastPass or Dashlane.
- Enable two-factor authentication for any account that supports it
- Authenticator is a good app that you can use to generate your two-factor that is supported by GitHub and Facebook for example
- Anti-virus like McAfee
- Turn your built-in Firewall on
- Change your SSID and make sure you have a strong password for your WiFi.
- Make sure you keep everything patched and updated
- Use a secure messaging app - Signal, Wire, etc.
- Be mindful of the apps you install
- Don't click links in emails, text messages, social media
- Think about encrypting your laptop/computer
- Use a VPN - Proton, Nord, PIA
- Secure Email - Protonmail
- Use your phone's data instead of a public WiFi network
