RV damage in wine country. After all Jeff and Patti have been through, the bad news is they accidentally damaged their RV steps. Smashed them pretty bad. It would take time to have the replacement parts mailed to them. The good news, they realized they were in California's Russian River wine country. A two night stay turned into three weeks. It helps to have reservations, however, by the time Jeff and Patti left Portland, Oregon, their route had changed. Forest fires diverted them from heading south to Lake Tahoe to instead making their way to the Pacific West Coast. They had so much fun winging it. In Tillamook, Oregon, they stayed at a Harvest Host, The Blue Heron French Cheese Company. And Jeff and Patti visited the Tillamook Cheese Creamery. Without a plan, they found some wonderful campgrounds, including an Oregon State Park campground right on the beach, and a harbor view RV park in Garibaldi, Oregon. Jeff & Patti's RV needed repairs in Nappanee, Indiana. After that they headed to Portland, Oregon. However, they were still waiting for an important recall fix on the rear axle. A Ford dealership in Torrington, Wyoming finally received the parts, called them and they made a special stop to have it serviced. But, they didn't do a good job. An hour and a half later, after they were back on the road, they once again had warning lights flashing on their dashboard instruments. About a thousand miles later, Northside Ford Truck Sales in Portland, Oregon came through. Jeff & Patti’s refrigerator on their new RV suddenly stopped working. They were in Colorado at the time and finding anyone to service it turned into a nightmare. Adding to that frustration, the temperature at the time was just over 100 degrees. Find out how they dealt with the issue as well as a leveling jack, that was leaking hydraulic fluid despite having once been repaired.
