In the very last episode of Breaking Barriers, I was joined by Hailey Johnson. Johnson is from Arizona but currently resides in Newnan, Georgia. She has been part of Piedmont's women's soccer team for three years. In this episode, Johnson talks about the mental battle she went through moving from Arizona to Georgia at the end of her first year of high school. We also talked about which she preferred, a male or female coach, and why.

Women's lacrosse midfielder at Piedmont University, Lindley Ward, joined the debate in this episode with some strong feelings and great insight. My older brother, Zach Kimmel, is a football fanatic. He went from pee wee all the way to Division I, until a horrific knee injury drastically changed his route. Having played the sport for most of his life, and being one of the biggest Green Bay Packers fans I've ever seen, he had lots to say about the turf war. He is eight years older and wiser than I am, so his insight shows how much he a) loves the sport of football and b) watches it. In the eleventh episode of Breaking Barriers, I was joined by Silas Sandles. Sandles is a native of Waxahachie, Texas, and a member of Piedmont's men's tennis team. He began playing tennis at a very young age after realizing he did not want to play basketball anymore. In this episode, we talk about what it was like playing tennis as a black student-athlete.

On the tenth episode of this 12-week podcast journey, host Chris Donsereaux was joined by Devin Dean, a Senior psychology major at Piedmont University. Like Spradlin (see episode five), Dean transferred into Piedmont, but Dean came from a division three school, unlike Spradlin, who transferred in from a division two university. During the episode, Donsereaux and Dean embarked on some complications that Dean faced in his college decisions and ultimately came to the conclusion that Piedmont was just the place meant for Dean to attend.
