I would be remise if I did not give thanks and respect to the reasons on why I inhabit this podcast genre space today. It seems like every week that I listen to my favorite personalities on the podcast circuit, I learn something new, valuable and entertaining. Although I have only been listening to Jack Spirko of The Survival Podcast for around a year, only a few personalities have impressed me and impacted the directions of my life as much as Jack has. Now, I know there are tons of Survival podcasts out there, thousands homesteading shows, but to run across and invest time into an all-encompassing, well rounded and real world informative show is a rare and valuable find. Am I shilling? Am I trying smooze the Redneck Hippy Duck Farmer? Today, my guest John Odermatt and I will be having a conversation about the Wokeism that has gripped our society and those of us who have become Awakened and Yes! There is a difference. From the Cancel Cuture, to the WEF who wants us to “eat the bugs and be happy”. The complete turnaround of specific values that drove people like Walt Disney to envision Disneyland and the demise of the decisions of the wokeism that is killing that once proud brand. I need to say little to those of us who remember the wholesomeness and moral values we once treasured and these virtues I speak of where colorblind and continue to be. In Ecclesiastes it was written “there is nothing new under the sun,” and although this is true. Each generation see’s a change in the fabric of our society. As for me. I cannot recognize the speed as to which our society is declining. Call me Boomer, Call me Old, Call me whatever you want. Woke is not one of them I wrote this and posted it in FaceBook a couple of weeks ago and it is fitting as an opener for the topic of today Yes! This world has gone to hell in a handbag. Every generation had its heyday and I am extremely concerned that those born after 911 will be looking back as we do now and thinking how normal things were in their time. From the revolving door of poor leadership choices to the cultural changes brought on by the exposure to social media. Our world has changed. The so-called woke people of today, that includes even people in my own generation who have joined, participate, and practice the new religion of self-hate, state worship. All suffer from an extreme case of Stockholm syndrome. They look in disgust at the norms of the 60s, the 70s and 80s which were the years of my youth. The values of decency, respect and reverence that were taught to me in my youth, have since been replaced by a nefarious and repetitive need to place blame on race, character and spiritually and as I look upon the landscape of our society, I don't see much hope for a return to sanity. (btw... back in the day they placed the blame on these same values) The older generation in my youth, used to look at us the same way as I look at our society now. I still hear this comment... "Look! These are the kids who be running the world someday" I'm quite sure this is generational and I won't be here (thank God) to see what becomes from the ramifications of the Woke generation. But, rest assured. When their generation looks back at this particular time, their youth, their heyday. Oddly enough, they will say as every generation before them... "Yes! Episode 7 of the Weather’d Soul dives into an area that was unexpected before my last episode and even though this episode has very little to do with homesteading, prepping or permaculture, it does have value in being active in a community of likeminded people with goals and visions. This vision of mine that started several years ago has had its up and downs. This year of 2022 was no different. What seemed to be a breakout year for this brand and my many business ventures has ended up being in my opinion mediocre at best. Where my expectations too high? Was my effort too little? Did a bite off more than I can chew? Or Did my visions of ideas and goals just become insurmountable? Many times, I have mentioned Jason Stapleton as a mentor and a driving force of my entrepreneurial adventures. I have been following him for the greater part of a decade, listening, gleaning and buying his workshops and programs. He has built his own vision of coaching and supporting entrepreneurs such as myself and has been pivotal in my efforts in building Weather’d Soul Jason would be the first to say that “It isn’t me who got you to where you are today, it was your effort” and to that I say “You are correct!” However… Without the community of people that he built via the Nomad Network. The support, information and mentoring he gives from his heart and the vast number of entrepreneurial adventures that he, himself has accomplished. This is kind of a tribute to his contribution to the world as a whole. Are there others out there like Jason? Probably Have other people contributed to the benefit of other in the selfless manner that Jason provides? Maybe But nevertheless this is the person that was blessed upon me as a mentor. But these two gentlemen and I mean gentlemen know exactly what they are talking about when it comes to homesteading and permaculture. Krista started out on her family homestead back in her youth. She was eager to fly the coop when and did so as soon as she became of age Little did she know that a time would come when the lessons of youth would return to drive her back to a place, she never understood or respected.
