Lamentations 1:1-11
Our community is growing in our need for and value of lament. We have moved from a “celebration” culture (where most our lives are in a good place) to a reality in which it is difficult for us to rejoice. Yet in pain, God desires to bring us together—close to one another and closer to himself. We cannot return to our old ways, we cannot find simple solutions, and we should not withdraw. God’s desire for us: lament together.
