Why does Africa struggle? While each country has its problems, few have the developmental problems the giant African continent faces. Africa is one of the richest continents in the world in precious metals and other resources - it has everything it needs to prosper - but why are large portions of this continent so often left behind in poverty, crime, war, corruption, racism and many other evils? As with all things in life, the root reason is spiritual; and here is why Africa is still struggling.

To marry, and whom we marry is the biggest decision in life next to deciding to follow Christ. Yet often this decision is rushed into by people who aren't both completely "sold out" to God. The marriage will seem fine at first, but soon things start crumbling. We then throw our hands to God and ask "why", yet we married someone who never truly died to themselves. Marriage is supposed to have a primary purpose of glorifying God. It's not primarily about you, your spouse, house or kids. It's supposed to be about Him. And if both individuals aren't on fire for Him, He simply won't come first. A marriage that doesn't put Him first, is a marriage based on the things of this world, a marriage that will suffer at the hand of lukewarmness and unbelief.

After multiplying the bread and fishes, Yeshua says something controversial: That Moses did NOT give them the bread from heaven, but rather it is the Father who brings forth bread from Heaven. This teaching was so controversial that much of the crowds left His audience. It can become so easy for us to get fixated on the bread that God gives to temporarily satisfy, that we miss what the bread is actually pointing to. These people were dependent on the manna from Moses to save them, yet Yeshua said their ancestors partook in that manna and still died in the wilderness! God calls us to look upon the true bread that He has provided, the true bread from heaven that everything else points to. If we worship the shadow instead of the substance it points to, we will likewise die in our wilderness - and that substance is Yeshua - not the laws of Moses.

Haven't you heard? The end of the world is approaching yet again. As we enter the new year, the Internet is rumoured with signs of the end. But what does the Bible really teach surrounding this? What are the authentic signs we need to look out for to anticipate Jesus' return? If we do not know scripture and prophecy, we will be deceived by rumours. And if you knew scripture, you would know that it is simply impossible for Jesus to come back this year. God has written His bride a love letter in anticipation of His return. And while we will not know the day or the hour, we who live in the light will know the season (1 Thess 5:4). Here is how we know that season, and 4 reasons He cannot come back in 2019.

Let’s be real for a moment. Praying for people, reading our bibles, doing “spiritual” things isn’t always fun. In fact, sometimes there’s a lot of other things I feel like I’d rather do. But what do we do with this feeling? And what does this feeling tell us about our relationship with God? I would like to submit to you,: if you always only did everything you do for God for the excitement or fun nature thereof, then God has become nothing more than a hobby to you instead of your lifestyle. We need to test ourselves to see where our heart really lies, and whether it is truly sold for Him.

Whether it is the New Age, Paganism, Witchcraft, Yoga, Ouija Boards, Tarot Cards or consulting the dead - witchcraft is more diverse than ever before and is being accepted into the mainstream culture more and more every day, even into various churches. This is the story of a girl who travelled far and wide to receive freedom from evil spirits that have been oppressing her entire life after her deep involvement in various kinds of witchcraft. After seeking to get rid of evil spirits with other forms of witchcraft, she came to a dead end and realized Jesus is her only way out. What God did for her would be something no other witch doctor could match and would change her life forever.

The Pharisees often came against Jesus, telling Him that He is doing what is unlawful to do on the Sabbath. At first glance, it seemed like He continuously had no regard for this law. And this belief is evident in much of Christianity, where this 4th commandment has become a mere decoration on our tablets of the ten. But did Jesus really break the Sabbath? Or is there a grave misunderstanding that has come about and caused great deception? The most concerning of all is that if our Messiah truly broke this commandment, it would mean He had sin, for sin is the transgression of the law. I would like to submit, He was teaching something so deep, that it has flown over the heads of many - He has been trying to teach us the spirit of the law. Instead of teaching, it is abolished, He was actually teaching how to keep it properly.

We have entered a new age of information at our fingertips like never before. But how can we sift through all the information, topics, and entertainment without falling into focussing on the things Yeshua would have never focussed on? Are we in danger of creating idols out of our favourite topics and being distracted from the most important things? For example, there is nothing wrong with investigating conspiracies or being a film fan, but when it consumes everything we think and talk about, have we gone too far? In this show, PD Vander Westhuizen joins Jake Grant for a live discussion on the new idol of this modern age.

Yeshua spoke of a greatest and least in the heavens in Matthew 5, but who are the "greatest"? Yeshua raised the standard of the law, by giving it meaning, filling it up with love, and walking it out properly for us to see. But did He come to throw away the foundational laws of His Father of which He raised the standard on? You see, Yeshua cannot teach that we may not look at a woman with lust because that is adultery in the heart, yet condone the physical act of adultery. It’s obvious, right? Yet many have taught that He came to do away with much of the foundation (law) of His Father and that we are now left with a "law on the heart" that may be different from the original law of God. We do indeed now have the law written on our hearts - but what does that truly mean according to scripture? And what is that law? Lene had an interesting journey with tattoos. After initially seeking to express who she was through getting a tattoo, she later realised it's no longer who she is after Christ came to change her from the inside out. Her new identity was brand new! It didn't need any accessory to tell the world who she was, for He who now lives in her shined brightly of His glory. God is always one step ahead of the enemy's plans, He is never caught off guard nor surprised. In the direst situations we can face, where it seems like there is no way out, that God’s promises are about to fail, and that He has forsaken us, God splits the sea and comes through at the very last moment. For at that moment, we realise that it could be nothing but God. He gets the glory and fame, and we are built in faith and character. When you face trials, rejoice! Tattoos are controversial. In the past, tattoos were always associated with crime, pagans, and evil. But today tattoos have become more acceptable in our culture, and have often even been encouraged by certain church cultures. But what does the Bible really teach about tattoos and what does God think about it?

Often in our journeys with God, we can fall into shame, guilt and condemnation when we don't feel like we are "good enough" or "doing enough" for God. Satan takes the opportunity to lie to us, and we listen to the wrong voice. This can be dire, for this shame actually makes us more passive for His Kingdom than anything else. But if you better understand God's character, you'll better understand what He thinks of you. The God who knows every hair on your head is on your side! For you, it all begins with a sacrificial heart unto God and then letting Him work in you. But He can't change your heart if you don't give it to Him - fully this time.

The first thing God commanded Israel to ever do is to celebrate a festival as their first point of departure and set-apartness from Egypt. To eat a perfect lamb, and to share that lamb with their neighbour. Today God is presenting an end days repeat of Passover, where we are to partake in the perfect Lamb of God and to share that lamb with our neighbour. It has always been about ensuring that all with a clean heart has the knowledge to paint their doorposts with His blood. Are you prepared for the end times Passover exile everything points to? It wasn't enough to take Israel out of Egypt, God needed to take Egypt out of Israel. It is not enough to remove ourselves from the world, we need to let God remove the world from our hearts too. The common process today for getting baptized is asking a pastor, joining a class, having your name put on a list, and then waiting for the next "baptism church service". But is this biblical? What does the scripture say regarding the process of baptism? You may be surprised to see it addresses this very issue of delaying baptism and takes it very seriously. Why do you wait? While we go to church for the next sermon, to the next worship event, the next evangelist speaker - while we go through the motions, we often forget an important group Jesus was sent to: The lost sheep of Israel. Baptizing someone can be an intimidating part of the gospel to do when doing it for the first time, but it is simple - and the Holy Spirit is your teacher! Here are 6 steps on how to baptize someone.

One of the most hotly debated topics around baptism is which name or names to use when conducting it. Many have even gone back to get rebaptized in a different name from before because they believe their baptism wasn't authentic when doing it the first time under a certain name. Most of this confusion stems from the scriptures being inconsistent in how baptisms were done. Jesus told us to baptize in the "Father, Son and Holy Spirit", while the disciples simply baptized others into the "Name of Jesus/Yeshua" So what is the truth? What name should we use when baptising others, or getting baptized?

What is it that causes God to pour out the firstborn blessing on a secondborn child? What moves God to elect someone for His glory? Many believe it's up to random chance, but Jesus told us what causes God to bless. It's not how well you speak, who your father is, how rich or poor you are, or where you grew up. It's something much more significant. God prefers to use those of a certain character, even sometimes those who are lost and weak. So we need to ask ourselves what is the character God delights in? One of the first questions asked when we realize that we need to be obedient to the whole Bible is: "Doesn't the Bible say men are not allowed to ever cut their beards (Leviticus 19)?" Should men have long beards? Or are they allowed to shave? Let's address the question in this short teaching on beards in the Bible.

Religious observance is not the relationship. Does your relationship with God stretch past the keeping of a command, attendance of a festival or bible study, or saying a prayer at the dinner table? We have all heard about having a "relationship" with God, but what does that truly mean? And often we are not innocent, we love control too. We want to see others do what we do, and when they don't - we want to play God. Earlier this week a missionary was killed by the Sentinelese people on a remote island along India. The world's reaction was shocking, but even more so, the reaction from many Christians.

What does it mean to "wrestle with God" as Jacob did? In the face of danger, when all seems to go wrong, and all we're left with is a promise from God, what will we do? We need to be like Jacob: to take hold of, and cry out to Father to not let us go until He blesses us! For that is where we find God face-to-face. However, when Jacob wrestled with God, God touched his hip and it was dislocated. But why? Your life is all about an eternal birthright. Before the foundation of the world, before everything, God spoke a calling over your life for you to pursue and accomplish. A calling in line with glorifying His kingdom. But many miss this birthright, despise it, and therefore miss out on the blessing. It's that time of the year again. With the decorations, the celebrations of darkness, and the trick or treating from door to door. The question is, what would Jesus do on a day like this? When we do the same thing every year, over and over again, anything and everything becomes so natural to us that we never stop to ask: Where does this all come from? And does it please God? Can you imagine being married, with a wedding contract you've never seen? Or being married to a spouse yet not knowing their expectations, likes or dislikes, or cultural background? Yet that's the state of many Christians. Just about every denomination has a different opinion on which parts of God's covenants are for us. Have you ever wondered how Paul did it? He reached the nations from north to south, east to west with the gospel. Reaching diverse pagan cultures and being able to connect with them, all without compromising his holiness. Even though we don't belong to this world, we can still connect with the lost as both Jesus and Paul did. In fact, Paul writes of how he did this in the last few chapters of Romans. He not only addresses how we can connect with the unbeliever, but also how to walk out our role with those in fellowship, and how to conduct fellowships. Living a life that encourages harmony with those around us is a commandment and one that someone's eternity can depend on since we are walking representations of Yeshua. There is not a lot of things more valuable than reaching the lost with the gospel, by all means necessary.

[PODCAST] What went wrong in the garden isn't just that they ate the fruit, there was a much deeper issue in Adam & Eve's relationship with God that caused the fall in the first place. His desire has always been to tabernacle among us. From the journey through Egypt to the end of the age where we will dwell with Him face-to-face. And from the beginning the enemy has come to lie, to make us doubt the voice of God, to separate us from God, even though God's desire is to come closer. This is the feast of "intimacy", the wedding rehearsal where the Bridegroom calls the Bride to gather her oil. This feast is the Greatest Feast, the culmination of everything, from Genesis to Revelation, from the Garden to the very End. And this feast is here. I hope this new teaching blesses you. [PODCAST] We are called to walk as Yeshua walked. But have you ever thought about the people He preached to the most? The meek, the weak, and contrite of heart. But we see little of this in mainstream Christianity, where the harvest is plentiful but hands are few. The idea of heading into the streets to preach the gospel and feed the poor can be daunting. So I decided to grab a camera and join one of the biggest outreach ministries in South Africa to show you how it can be done. This event was smaller, and a great example of how anyone can go out with a few friends to feed and clothe the poor, both physically and spiritually.

When it comes to our opinions, we can easily get really excited. Sometimes over-excited - lifting conspiracy theories like flat earth, our organic diets, or even "spiritual" practices to the level of law, considering ourselves "better" and alienating those who don't believe what we do regarding disputable matters. And just like today, Paul faced many of the same issues and tells us to be humble about them. Romans 14 is also misunderstood by mainstream Christianity as the food chapter where Paul says we can "eat whatever we want", and keep a sabbath on "any day we want". Both these ideas are a severe misunderstanding of the cultural issues Paul were facing, and if we understand them, you'll see it's actually pretty simple: Paul was never nullifying the law of God, but rather the laws of men. [PODCAST] One of these years, this would be the day where the world hears the trumpets of Revelation sound, but what if it sounded today? Time will be up. No more second chances, no more calling your parent, friend or colleague to say you’re sorry. For in a little while, we will all appear before God to be judged on every idle word and thought. He will especially look at what we’ve done with the talents He’s entrusted us with. Was it simply for the exaltation of our own kingdom? Or was it always used towards His? Today is not too late yet. He’s not back yet. That means while it is Day, you still have time. Make the decision today to give your life into His hands. Many are “Christian” yet hold onto their own life. Hear me today: He who holds onto his own life will lose it. He who gives up his life for His sake will gain it. Have a blessed feast of trumpets!

[PODCAST] When Paul wrote that we are to "be subject to the governing authorities", it might shock you to discover that he was under a governing authority that did not even believe in God! So how could Paul write such a thing? What are we to do with this passage when we are ruled by governments who oppose God? And what did Paul really mean when he said that all of them have been "instituted by God"? [PODCAST] In this incredible discussion, PD and Zach Struharik goes through the most prevalent lies of the enemy we believe that holds us back from the calling God has set apart for us. - There are many things holding us back from fulfilling the calling that God has placed on our life. I would like to go through some of the "excuses" we often make, or battles we face when trying to run after what God called us to. This talks to the bigger picture of our perspectives - we are often very focused on the here and now, and because of that miss the bigger picture of eternity. After all, our callings are in light of eternity and have an eternal impact.

[PODCAST] God granted the thief on the cross salvation at the last minute - without him ever being baptized. The thief on the cross is important! Because God used him to closely demonstrate what baptism means, even though he himself was never baptized. Everything that baptism fulfils was accomplished in the thief. If we properly understand baptism, we can properly live for God. Because it's supposed to be so much more than a sprinkle of water.
