Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity penned a letter to President Joe Biden and FHFA Director Sandra Thompson saying "It is already clear that this new policy will be a disaster." Garrity is referring to a decision by the Biden Administration and the Federal Housing Authority to charge highly-qualified mortgage borrowers extra fees to pay for those borrowers who have lower credit scores. Treasurer Garrity added, "It amounts to a middle-class tax hike that will unfairly cost American families millions upon millions of dollars. And – at a time when the real estate market has already slowed considerably due to high interest rates – it will further depress home sales." The Treasurer was a guest on the Rick Dayton Show talking about why she is opposed to this newest measure.
