Organizing the Museum and the French General Strike

For today’s episode, let’s take a trip to the museum. Museums are cultural spaces, but they are also key sites of struggle and centers of industry here in New York City. Right now, our fellow organizers are active in the museum community -- participating in union drives and contract struggles, addressing questions of accountability and accessibility, and working to create museum spaces rooted in ethics, equity, and worker power. I’ll be speaking to Megan Elevado and Antonio Serna on their work to create a Museum Workers’ Manifesto and of course, about how YOU can get involved whether you are a museum visitor, an educator, a parent, or perhaps a museum worker yourself. But first, let’s take a moment to check in with another ongoing struggle for worker power, the general strike in France. Here in the WBAI studios today from France we have Jean-Pierre Page, former head of international department of CGT; member of nat'l exec. Committee.
