Show Notes
For those of you that haven’t read Dr Davis’s book ‘Wheat Belly’ I suggest you go out and buy it now. It will explain everything you need to know about why wheat is a major contributor to disease today.
In addition to writing, speaking, and practicing preventive cardiology in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dr Davis is the Medical Director and founder of the Wheat Belly Lifestyle Institute that helps people navigate this lifestyle and provides a community for further engagement, as well as Medical Director and founder of the Cureality program that helps educate and inform people in ways to take back control over health.
To quote Dr Davis, “I’m not promoting drugs, fancy medical procedures, or costly equipment. I’m not promoting a process that makes a pharmaceutical company rich or helps hospitals gain more procedures. I’m talking about a simple change in diet that yields incredible and unexpected health benefits in so many more ways than you’d think.” This is exactly why I wanted to get him on the show.
In the interview we discussed:
How wheat impacts every organ of the body
Why whole grains aren’t healthy
How wheat today is a lot different to wheat even 20 or 30 years ago
How wheat became a stable in our diets and what was behind this move
How removing wheat can help you remover from gut issues such as colitis and Crohn's
Wheat’s head to toe destruction of health
Why it’s not only the gluten that’s to blame
Where people have to look out for wheat & much more
As you will be able to tell when you listen to the interview Dr Davis (or Bill as he prefers) is a lovely guy with a lot of character. And even though his approach isn’t harsh or blunt he also isn’t afraid to speak the truth and pulls no punches.
Dr Davis is someone that we will definitely be getting back on to share more great health tips and knowledge. In fact in the New Year will be discussing his new book.
