Religion had stifled faith in God within the nation of Israel, but the need for hope would be met in Jesus. The Son of God claimed to be able to generate resurrection life by His spoken Word. His own resurrection authenticated His message as true, and is the guarantee of the greater harvest yet to come. Jesus is the answer to death and eternal separation from God.
