I’m joined by Finnish Twitter poster Bleppsama for a discussion on the Ukraine war. To begin, I ask Blepps if the war is subject to the same level of political polarization as it is in America. He explains why Europeans – liberal or conservative – tend to support Ukraine on average. Next up, we discuss demoralization, with Blepps offering some constructive advice for online right-wingers who have given in to it. We discuss the need to have a positive vision for the future, even if it’s a bit idealistic. Later, I ask Blepps what’s best for Europe: defeating Russia or prolonging the war in the hope that Ukraine reclaims its lost territory?

In the second half, available to subscribers, we consider whether Trump urging Europe to cover its own defense could benefit the continent. I then ask Blepps if this might result in more Chinese influence in Europe. Switching gears, we discuss Russia’s territorial ambitions. Before the episode concludes, I ask Blepps if Putin’s regime is domestically secure.
