Life can be hard. We all have felt feelings of lost, desperation, and despair. In Matthew 5:3-4, Jesus teaches that spiritual emptiness and heartfelt sorrow aren’t signs of failure, but opportunities to encounter God’s Kingdom and His comfort. These verses remind us that God draws near to the broken and fills us with eternal hope. In a world that values strength and self-reliance, Jesus invites us to find blessing in our weakness and hope in our grief.
