Stories of Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar’s near-visit to Israel and Hamid Hayat’s
release from jail cannot be told in soundbites, so here we go in-depth and unravel
the truth. Everyone knows that Congresswomen Tlaib and Omar have been
extremely outspoken critics of Israel - including Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Yet, these women apparently thought they could hide the fact that their planned
trip to Israel was sponsored by Miftah, a Ramallah-based organization that honors
Palestinian suicide bombers and supports the anti-Israel Boycott, Divest and
Sanctions (BDS) movement.

When their agenda became obvious, Israel cancelled their trip. Then Rashida Tlaib
tried another ploy. She wrote to the Israeli Interior Minister, requesting admittance
allegedly so she could see her 90-year-old grandmother, perhaps for the last time.
However, when her request was granted, under conditions of not carrying out
anti-Israel activism while she was there, Tlaib decided that she didn’t need to see
her grandma after all. Hear all the intriguing details.

Hamid Hayat’s case is less clear and more controversial. He spent 14 years in a
California prison, charged with having attended a terrorist training camp in Pakistan.
Though he'd confessed to this, he was recently freed after a judge overturned his
conviction based mainly on ineffective assistance of counsel during his original trial.
Lots of surreal circumstances: a prosecutor’s witness who lied about having seen
Osama bin Laden’s deputy in the U.S., defense witnesses who claimed Hamid only
played soccer and video games in Pakistan, a father whose confession was based
on the movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and more….
