They were hacked to death while they slept in their tent, in an attack so frenzied and horrifying, it is said to have inspired the famous Friday the 13th movies. Join me as we explore this unsolved case and delve into the mysteries that surround the Slaughter at Lake Bodom… Lake Bodom is a little over 12 miles from the Finnish capital of Helsinki, near the town of Espoo. And on the night of June 4, 1960, it's where two teenage couples — Nils Gustafsson, 18; Irmeli Björklund, 15; Seppo Boisman, 18; and Tuulikki Mäki, 15 — set up tents to camp out and enjoy the pristine wilderness. It was only a year since the murders that happened in the Tulilahti camping area, so the parents of the girls weren’t exactly thrilled to let their daughters go on the trip, but they let them go last minute.
