Episode 3566: Dark Enigma - Strange Cases of People Who Rose From The Dead

Welcome heathens welcome to the world of the weird and unexplained.  I’m your host, Nicole Delacroix and together, we will be investigating stories about the things that go bump in the night, monsters lurking under your bed or deep in the forest, that unknown creature lurking just out of sight and frighteningly imagined creatures, ghosts, supernatural beings and even some unsolved mysteries.  So, sit back, grab your favorite drink, and prepare to be transported to today's dark Enigma.... 

And on today’s Dark enigma we’re jumping right back into the strangeness now that Halloween is out of the way, and since we’ve just passed Dia De Los Muertos, well I think you know where I’m going with today’s episode!  So, with that said, we will still be playing our drinking game and as you know, the drinking game is only for those of us that are at home and have nowhere else to go tonight.  The choice of libation, as always, is yours my darlings, so choose your poison accordingly… Alright, now for the game part how about every time I say Dead or Zombie that will be a single shot and every time I say funeral, that will be a double shot.  Now that the business end is out of the way we can jump headfirst into today’s dark enigma… so grab your best Sheriff’s hat and horse – that’s right I’m bringing back OG Rick from the Walking Dead…. It is said that death is the final frontier, the last barrier through which we all must pass with absolute finality, never to emerge again into the world of the living. It is considered to be a fact that when we die, it is forever, that there is no coming back, at least not into reality as we know it. Yet as final as this inexorable, last black curtain of death may seem there are those who have managed to somehow escape it and claw their way back. These are people who have been embraced by death but ended up prying its cold fingers from them, to come floating back to life and showing us that sometimes that last, mysterious veil between worlds that awaits us all is not always as clear and well-defined as we might like to think.

Some of the most dramatic stories of people returning from the dead have to do with those who seem to be none other than real-life zombies. Many such accounts come from the Caribbean nation of Haiti, where there has long been belief in the reanimation of corpses through the magic of powerful witch doctors or sorcerers known as bokor. By far the most well-known case of such a zombie is that of a man named Clairvius Narcisse.
