I’m your host, Nicole Delacroix and together, we will be investigating stories about the things that go bump in the night, monsters lurking under your bed or deep in the forest, that unknown creature lurking just out of sight and frighteningly imagined creatures, ghosts, supernatural beings and even some unsolved mysteries. And on today’s Dark enigma well, I got a lot of feedback on last week’s story. Most of you guys thought the Vatican was either directly involved or complicit in the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi, but there were a few that thought I should bounce back with a nice story about religion. So you know I’m a bit of a wuss, so I figured I’d give the church a break, especially since my mom wants me to be nice, and I guess we all need an uplifting story for a change… meh, with that said, we will still be playing our drinking game and as you know, the drinking game is only for those of us that are at home and have nowhere else to go tonight. The choice of libation is yours, so choose your poison accordingly… Alright, now for the game part how about every time I say Philadelphia that will be a single shot and every time I say Miracle, that will be a double shot. I know your envisioning lovely warm bagels with Shmeer… Philadelphia Shmeer that is lol ok Now that the business end is out of the way we can jump headfirst into today’s dark enigma… so prepare yourself and your bagels for the Tale of The Miraculous Saint Neumann And The Healing of Chuck McGivern
So the premise of today’s show: Do miracles really exist in this world? I’m not talking about somehow defeating the numerical odds or slipping through the cracks of statistics, like winning the lottery twice in a row, scoring a perfect hole in one on a difficult shot, or coming out unscathed from an accident that perhaps should have killed you. I mean real, honest to God miracles; feats of impossibility perpetuated by some unknown force or higher power. Do we live in a world where forces beyond our understanding can swoop in and alter our reality in such a way as to beat impossible, insurmountable odds, miraculously cure incurable sicknesses, or make the most unbelievable things occur?
