Understanding why this is happening—and what we can do about it—requires understanding the nature of the right, as well as its history.</p><p>That’s why I was so happy to learn that my friend and frequent guest Matthew McManus has a new book, <em>The Political Right and Equality</em>, in which he traces the philosophical development of right-wing ideas.
