When 8 month old Matthew Eappen was admitted to hospital with signs of a severe head trauma, and died just days later of his injuries, doctors and police suspected abuse.
Louise Woodward, Matthew’s 18 year old British au pair, was quickly arrested and tried for his murder; and although she denied ever hurting the baby, many experts seriously doubted her story.
