Before you see the word "hustle" and decide not to listen, stick with me. I recently met with an incredible Christian entrepreneur whose podcast about building a business that glorifies God, and when I used the word hustle, she cringed. But as I began to unpack the idea of redefining hustle and how that means emulating Jesus as we work, I could see the sense of relief come over her. Still, she was uncomfortable with the word because the world's definition of hustle is our comfort zone! At the same time, one of my November retreat attendees felt this initialism in her spirit after the retreat: H - Help U - Unlock S - Strength & Steadiness T - Through the L - Lord's E - Everlasting Leadership Powerful, right? Clearly God was pointing me to the need to start 2023 by exploring if "hustle" gets a fair shake or a bad rap, and to dedicate the month of January to key ways we redefine hustle.
